One of the most important parts of the Civic Centre arena and floors replacement project will take place today (July 15th, 2021).
Director of Community Services, Kelly Williams, says cement trucks will be arriving at the Civic Centre every 15-minutes from 7:00am to 7:00pm and says when they start pouring they can’t stop.
Williams says they are not closing the site, but are asking residents and users at the tennis courts and nearby recreation facilities to park elsewhere for the day if possible as the Civic Centre will be busy.
It will take about a month for the cement to cure.
Williams says one crews can walk on the new Civic Centre floor, they will start installing the boards.
Work is expected to be complete before the arena opens in the fall.
