With a push to get more of the population vaccinated, COVID-19 clinics could be coming to farmers markets and workplaces across the Ottawa Valley.
Acting medical officer of health with the Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU), Doctor Robert Cushman, says they’re hoping to have pop-up clinics start by the end of the month to make it as easy as possible to get vaccinated.
Cushman says most of the new cases in the region are in unvaccinated people and are related to travel with people coming from the United States, other countries and neighbouring provinces.
The acting medical officer of health for the RCDHU says numbers in the 20-45 age range are still low and adds there’s a lot of room for more infection with young people and children under 12 who are unvaccinated.
Cushman is encouraging all residents to book a COVID-19 vaccine to prevent a 4th wave and keep variants at bay.
