Flooding that reeled havoc on homeowners in Pembroke back in 2017 are still trying to put their property back together. Close to 100 homes owners of the Welland and Moffat Street area have been struggling to cope with massive loss of land along the Muskrat and Indian River banks. Founder of Pembroke Landslide Victims Leigh Costello updates us on the situation.
Costello says the undertaking would be huge.
She goes on to say that the situation around her neighbourhood is difficult.
A stabilization study to fix the problem, funded through the City of Pembroke, shows an estimated cost of $16 million to make the river banks safe again. The group, along with Pembroke City Council are continuing to push for funding from both provincial and federal governments.
