The Pembroke Kiwanis Toy and Food Drive is officially underway.
The fundraiser kicked off this morning (Nov. 18th, 2021) at the Pembroke Mall.
Co-chair of the Christmas Toy and Food Drive Jay McLaren says they have a goal of $30,000.
Volunteers are needed to sit at the table at the mall and collect donations.
McLaren says interested volunteers can call him at 613-639-7728.
He says people give anywhere from $1 to the $2,500 donation they received from the Rotary Club to kick off the fundraiser.
Donations will used to purchase toys with the remaining funding divided between St. Joseph’s Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen and The Grind in Pembroke.
There are a number of ways you can donate:
- Dropped off at the Pembroke Mall donation table by Dollarama,
- E-transfer donations can be sent to ToyDrive@pembrokekiwanis.org (use the password Toys),
- Dropped off at Studio Dreamshare downtown Pembroke (18 Pembroke Street West),
- or Mailing a cheque to Pembroke Kiwanis, 961 Pembroke Street West, Pembroke Ontario, K8A 8R4.
Tax receipts will be issued for any donations over $20.
