It’s the 16th year for the Christmas Luncheon in Petawawa.
Chair of the Christmas Angels Committee and Petawawa Town Councillor Theresa Sabourin says they want to make sure that nobody goes without a Christmas Dinner who wants one.
She adds they will only be offering takeout or delivery this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sabourin says last year, they served up 298 meals and all residents in Petawawa are welcome to take part.
She adds the event grows and demand changes every year.
Back in 2006 when they first started offering the Christmas Luncheon, Sabourin says they welcomed a lot of families who would be alone over the holidays because of military postings in Afghanistan.
There is no cost for the Christmas Luncheon which is a traditional turkey dinner provided by Schmidt’s Catering.
Sabourin says delivery will take place between noon and 1:30pm on the 25th of December.
You can call the Civic Centre (613-687-5678 ext. 1) until 4:00pm on December 23rd or call 613-401-8971 or 613-687-2429 after December 23rd.
