Local police are working with municipalities in the Ottawa Valley as high levels of traffic are expected on Highway 17 between Pembroke and Arnprior.
This comes as what is being called a “freedom convoy” is rolling through the Ottawa Valley today (Friday, January 28th, 2022).
Drivers are encouraged to avoid Highway 17 if possible and use alternate routes.
The County of Renfrew has announced the 417 overpass in Arnprior (along Daniel Street and White Lake Road from Baskin Drive to Campbell Drive) will be closed from 4:00pm to midnight.
The City of Pembroke has announced Paul Martin Drive will be closed to traffic headed towards Highway 17 at the set of lights at the Boundary Road intersection by KI from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
The Town of Renfrew says no local roads will be closed, but residents and drivers can expect delays and higher levels of traffic in the area.
A “traffic disruption notice” has been issued along Highway 17 from Pembroke to Arnprior between 2:00pm and 8:00pm tonight.
