Generous donations from members of the community have helped raise $42,000 as part of the third annual Kiwanis Christmas Toy and Food Drive.
That blows past the goal of $30,000 that was set.
With the roughly $42,000 that was raised, 219 bags of toys were distributed in the community with the remaining funds going towards the St. Joseph’s Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen and The Grind in Pembroke.
Volunteers were set up at the Pembroke Mall collecting donations leading up to the 2021 holiday season.
